What you need to surf??

Fist step to learn how to surf is choosing the right equipment. You need:
- Surfboard: first and more important thing! There are many kinds of board that you can find. In my opinion the foam soft-top boards are the best one to learn.
- Wax: help to keep your feet on the board because you don’t want slide (if you are using a soft-top board you will not need)!
- Leash: attach to your ankle with the back of your board, if you lose the board every time you fall in the water it is not fun at all!
-Wetsuit, if you are not so lucky to leave in a place with warm water you absolutely need a wetsuit to survival in the water.
- Sun Cream (screen): of course…to protect your skin and that beautiful face of yours!!!

Tourmaline 01.24.12

Today at Tourmaline Beach (in San Diego) the weather was nice but no one was in the water... the bad weather is probably the reason the waves have been so messy and it didn't help that we went at high tide. Regardless we went surfing anyways and were fighting against the strong current and many sneaker waves... Because nothing can stop us!!!! Thank you BB for coming with me.

SAN ONOFRE

San Onofre is a historical surf break with more than waves and a very nice beach, offers toilet, shower and fireplace to BBQ. The waves are perfect for long boards (oopsies, sorry short boards!!!!!!) because they are long and easy and I recommend to use Booties for the many rocks, above all during low tide. All this elements mix together make San Onofre a really special place!!!!

For anyone that is interested, San Onofre is located south of San Clemente, on I-5, exit Basilone Road, halfway between San Diego and LA (approximately 60 miles).
In my opinion, the only two things that are important to know are:
- San Onofre is a national park and to go inside with your car you need pay
- Overlooking the beach you will see the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) which doesn’t match the incredible view that this location has to offer.

MY PARADISE

A very good friend of mine took this pic in one of my favorite spot: San Onofre. We just parked in the fist free spot we found and while I was looking the wave condition she took this nice shoot. The day was amazing with perfect weather and slow, rolling waves that made our day unforgettable!

WELCOME TO SURF SISTA!

Here we are!!!!
Welcome to the place for all the people who love surfing!
I moved from another country to California to follow a dream and enjoy all my free time on my long board, like many people that I know.
After I spent all my life snowboarding, I decided to trade my mountain for the ocean and here I found what I was looking for: peace, freedom and the incredible and indescribable sensation to ride a wave.
I would like everyone to share; emotions, tricks, spots, weather and anything they want to speak about.
It is not important where you are from, your age, or your level.   Here, the only thing that is important is what you feel when you are in the water, the emotion of the fist wave, how much you enjoyed the last surf trip with your friends, a surfboard that you are looking for and whatever surfing means to you.
Please fell free to post whatever it is related to your life or experience, I would love!!!!
